　　Following her mother’s death, manga artist Soriya travels to her ancestral home in Phnom Penh, with hopes of reconnecting with her distant family and using the visit as inspiration for her work. All goes well initially. Renting an apartment in Metta, a rundown Khmer Rouge-era housing complex, her visit to her maternal relatives finds her welcomed with open arms. But Soriya’s waking hours in the apartment and its surroundings are punctuated by terrifying, bloody visions, almost as though she were a conduit for horrors of the past wanting to seep into the present.　　Inrasothythep Neth and Sokyou Chea’s blood-chilling psychological horror explores a personal and political past through the present, transforming a characterful space into an insidious environment. Surrounded by modern high-rises, this decrepit structure, with its brutalist architecture and peeling surfaces, is a relic from a dark period in history whose painful memories it has absorbed. In tracing Soriya’s ominous journey back to her roots, Tenement hints at a necessary reckoning with Cambodia’s political past without overplaying its historical dimension. It’s an impressive work from a woefully underrepresented national cinema.

普通事故

　　只是一场意外，却又超乎意外。驾车撞死一条狗，男子与妻女来到陌生车房。凭其义肢走动时的声响，车房工认出司机或是当年施酷刑的狱吏。仇人送上门，雪恨更待何时。然而，狱中受折磨时双眼被蒙，嫌疑犯是行刑者确实无误？从早到晚奔波一轮，找来几个狱友确认俘虏身份，痛苦回忆涌上心头。在无 垠沙漠等待把他活埋私了，有若在人性荒原等待果陀，替天行道又是否问心无愧？以悬疑惊栗布局，暗黑写实的人物故事来自巴纳希狱中亲见亲闻，将苛政、滥权、以暴易暴一一置于道德伦理的天秤上，丈量人性轻重；悲愤中不失幽默，连消带打贪污贿赂之风。一面金棕榈奖，绝非意外。

影片通过追逐与命案，讲述了一段真实感人的爱情故事。核心不是命案，不是拐卖儿童案，是温暖与希望。无论生活有多悲催，只要相信爱拥有爱，就会无所畏惧，充满希望。善恶对错不应是非黑即白，人就如同两栖动物，始终游离在善恶之间的一念之差，贵在如何选择。
