甜蜜与卑微
故事发生在20世纪的30年代，雷（西恩·潘 Sean Penn 饰）是当时红极一时的爵士乐传奇人物。由于早年生活困顿，成名后雷养成了挥金如土的恶习，压抑许久的他放纵自己迷失在由金钱和美女组成的奢侈世界里。 一位名叫海蒂（萨曼莎·莫顿 Samantha Morton 饰）的普通洗衣女工深深的爱上了雷，愿意为雷付出一切，而雷亦对单纯的海蒂抱有好感。可是，此时的雷并不想过早的走入安定的家庭生活，更何况，雷可是一位艺术家啊，对于艺术家来说，婚姻难道不正是灵感的坟墓吗？就这样，雷和海蒂渐行渐远。之后，雷娶了性感妖娆的作家布兰奇（乌玛·瑟曼 Uma Thurman 饰），却发现布兰奇是比自己还要放浪形骸的“交际花”。直到此时，雷才想起了海蒂的好，可是雷没有把握，这个单纯可爱的女孩如今还会一如既往的包容他，接纳他吗？

Ayşe, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble.
